Training Activity C2 : Malta

Dates : November 2020

This training activity consists of five phases:
1. Recruitment of the participant in the CoP,
2. Preparation including selection of topic for the mini research project, reading research and publishing of summary of the research,
3. Carrying out of field research by listening to and sounding stakeholders,
4. Publishing the mini research paper that will include the research read, the results of the field research and reflections / conclusions of the author and
5. Peer review of the paper.

Activities 1 - 3 will take place before the training days
Activities 4 and 5 will take place during the training days and in the follow up.
All the five phases are considered to be one process of growth even if a lot of activity is made by the participant before the training days because the training days will have a three pronged mission:
- training in the formal aspects of research,
- help build confidence in the participants to overcome the inhibitions related to the perception that writing to be published is something for academics and
- giving support to the participants (all direct beneficiaries of the project) to make the most difficult part of the process ie. writing the paper and giving it the structure of an academic paper albeit it is a mini research paper.

Training will be delivered by VisMedNet and ValIda and their experts will use the training materials already produced in UPPScience for training in research process with adaptation to the youth field taking into consideration the field work part of the process that was not present in the UPPScience project.
